A Spring Birthday card using Perfect Layers tools

Hi everyone. I want to share with you a few step by step instructions for using our Perfect Layers tools for your card making projects. In case you are not familiar with our tools, you can see all of them at our website, www.PerfectPaperCrafting.com  But today I am highlighting our Perfect Layers tools. These amazing tools allow you to create perfect mats from 1/16″ to 1″ mats. How great is that and the best thing is you don’t have to guess our use your math skills to do so! This card is a fun spring birthday card I created and just love how it turned out. I used October Afternoon’s Modern Homemaker patterned paper. The card stock is Bazzill. Here is my card without mats.

I started by folding a piece of card stock to 6X6 and then started mating. As you can see in this photo I used a Spellbinders die to add some fun detail and used my Perfect Layers tool to mat it. The lip on the underside our our tool allows you to catch the die cut to make the mat.

Matting a Spellbinder die I then colored my Greeting Farm stamp, Flirty Anya, and paper pieced her dress.

I then colored up my Greeting Farm stamp, Flirty Anya, with my Copic markers.

Then I found these great felt K & Co. embellishments and look how perfect the one of the flowers fit perfectly over the flower on my image!

I finished matting my papers with my Perfect Layers tool to put the final mats on my card.

I then added the final K & Co. felt embellishment and greeting to finish my card.

Here is the inside of my card. I also use my Perfect Layers tool to make the mats on the inside as well as a K & Co. felt embellishment and words for the greeting.

Here is a peek at the before and after of my card so you can see the difference Perfect Layers tools can make on your cards.

I sure hope you like my card. I had so much fun creating it. Leave a comment and hopefully if you haven’t tried our amazing Perfect Layers tools, this will get you excited to do so. 1. Hope I don’t sound dumb…but how did you mat the inside of the die? that is one part i’m trying to figure out! a Video would help…

    thanks so much…

    • I am not sure what part of the card you are referring to? The white paper with the greeting is a die and I used my Perfect Layers tool to layer around it. I hope that helps.
