A Mini Album To Grace Any Coffee Table

Hi everyone, Jenny joins us today with this beautiful Mini Album, created using Perfect Paper Crafting Mini Layers and Layers to give that professional finish!

I am pretty much just a card maker, but everyone in awhile it’s fun to do a scrapbook project. I started out with an album made by Maya Road, it is heavy chipboard. The album was painted with Dylusions Black Paint. The paint goes on like butter and no brush strokes show.  I did not want to paint all the pages, so I just used a Black Copic to edge the pages… much less mess and I didn’t have to wait for drying.

The pages are 6×6, which doesn’t leave a tremendous amount of space after you put pictures in. To help give my pages some extra bang, I used Perfect Layer Rulers to add additional mats and layers. This small extra layers of black really help things stand out. Since my pages were smaller, the Mini Rulers did the job.

I used a lot of elements from the embellishment pages in the kit. Again… just that little 1/16″ layer adds so very much. I added Glossy Accents to some of the stars and word embellishments, but the shine doesn’t show off in the pics. I created a little pull out pocket on the left page.

Lotsa layers again! Even though my pages are small, I think I managed to pack a lot on them using the 1/16″ and 1/8″ measurements on the rulers.

On these pages, I added some little buttons and bows to add a little dimension. All of the pages have foam tape popping up different elements. With the heavy chipboard pages, they can hold more weight than a regular card stock scrapbook page.

On these pages I added some little baker twine details… just running it around the edges of some of the frames.  Using the 1/16″ little black edges on between the patterns really helps separate the color and define the elements.

Here’s the end of the book! I had fun creating this… stepping out the box for a day! Hope I’ve given you some ideas! All of the papers in this project came from the vibrant Bella Blvd Collection Kit: Color Chaos. I did also add black card stock in to the mix along with MFT’s Stitched Square Dies. Lots of Perfect Paper Ruler action on each page!

Creating a Card From a Photo

Hello everyone, Chitra here and today I am sharing a card using photo. It was little difficult for me to just come up with a card idea using photo, here is what I made…

By Chitra Nair (that is me and hubby dear)

To create this card:

  • First I took an A2 sized white card base and placed “bubble mask” stencil from studio calico and used my Perfect Paper Crafting Air brush along with R24 marker and spritzed little red color on the bottom part of the card base.

  • Then I took a photo  I wanted to use for my card and used Perfect Square tool and Perfect Cutting Mat to get the perfect measurement I wanted. I just wanted the left and right sides trimmed; I used the bottom edge as my catch edge and trimmed one side and did the same for the other side using top edge as the catch edge.
  • Once I was happy with the photo size I used corner punch to round all four corners.

  • For layering I used 3/8”-inch, 1/8”-inch and 3/16”-inch (from bottom to top); I used Perfect Layers Mini on design papers from DCWV.

  • I adhered the whole photo panel directly to the card base.
  • For the stamped image I used Avery Elle’s “Dream Boat” stamp set; stamped the image onto Crafters Companion ultra smooth white cardstock and colored it using Copics, then trimmed it out and adhered it using some foam squares.
  • The sentiment is also from the same Avery Elle’s set which is stamped using Memento Tuxedo Black ink.

Here is a close up:

Hope you like my card, thanks for stopping by!!

Have a great day!

Perfect Layers on a Scrapbook Page

Most people use our amazing Perfect Layers tools for card making. But Perfect Layers tools are fabulous for scrapbooking. I have always struggled with matting my photos on scrapbook pages until I started using my Perfect Layers tools a few years ago. I must say that my Perfect Layers tools are my go to tool when I scrapbook. I have tried to use my trimmer to mat my photos, but inevitably they turn out uneven. Using my Perfect Layers tools takes the guess work out of matting and I get even, crisp mats EVERY single time I use them. I would not think of  scrapbooking without them! Just sayin’!

Here is a scrapbook page I created using our Perfect Layers tools.

IMG_7787 I used the 1/4″ Perfect Layers tool for the yellow and red mats around the two photos. The even mats really help to make the photos stand out. I added one more mat in blue using the 1/8″ Perfect Layers tool to really make the photos POP!!

I use the 1/8″ Perfect Layers tool to make the mats around the fishtail banners in the cluster at the top right of my page. The mats really give some great dimension and interest to the banners. If you click here, you can see how you can mat fishtail banners. I think matting fishtail banners is on of my favs!!!!

I hope you will try our Perfect Layers tools on your scrapbook pages and other crafting projects you are working on. They make crafting so easy!!! I hope you have a Perfectly crafty day!
