Thanksgiving Card

As Thanksgiving is at the end of this month we asked Roxie to inspire us with a Thanksgiving Card, and she has not disappointed us with this wonderful card. Those leaves look real right?

By Roxie Glaza

These leaves remind me of the last few maple leaves blowing around the yard on Thanksgiving Day.

The leaves were created on white cardstock with acrylic paints on the Gelli Plate, black was the first color on the cardstock and then apricot, yellow, flesh, red, butterscotch, terracotta and lettuce green. Just continue rolling on colors until you like it. I wanted just a little more red so using a sea sponge I rubbed on a little distress ink. Then cut the leaves with a die.

This was my first time using the border dies and I did some thinking on how to place them evenly on the card panel and decided I could line up the panel to the Perfect Cutting Mat‘s markings and then use the markings to evenly place the die. Worked perfectly for all three borders!

Since I held the die in place with inexpensive painters tape on the section that wouldn’t be used, it’s easier to emboss first and cut second.

The Perfect Layers Mini made it easy to cut my borders and have them perfect on the first attempt.

Sentiment Image: Just For Fun Rubber Stamps
Paper: Bazzill – colors, The Paper Hallow (local stamp store) – black, AC Cardstock – white textured, Georgia Pacific for leaves
