Thanksgiving is such a great time to remind us of all the wonderful reason to give thanks in our lives. Today Raechelle Bellus is showing us how to make this beautifully designed card, whether you are saying thanks for a gift given or a special friends, hand made cards are just the special way to do it.
Adhere top sheet of patterned paper to orange sheet allowing at least a ¼” border.
With the top patterned paper as your guide, with a pencil lightly mark a dot 1/16” out from the corner using The Perfect Ruler.
Again, using The Perfect Ruler top paper as your guide, move up along each side of the paper and lightly mark a dot with a pencil 1/8”.
I started out by embossing the Flowers from the RAH Abstract Florals set onto some Watercolor paper with White Embossing powder. Then I added some Distress ink in Picked Raspberry, Wild Honey and Spiced Marmalade with a brush and water.
Once the background was dry I added some more images from the set with VersaFine Black Onyx ink.
I used the Beautiful die cut from My Favorite Things and die cut four from some white card stock and stacked them together with liquid glue and adhered them to the front of the card.
I stamped the sentiment from the Right At Home Simple Sentiments set onto some black card stock and heat embossed it in white and trimmed it into a Banner and added it just above the Beautiful Sentiment.
We teamed up with our friends at Right at Home to show you some of our tools working together with some of their awesome stamps and paper products! Right at Home is a fantastic company specializing in unique and modern paper crafting supplies. Below Raechelle shows us just what she can do when designing with their products.
A Little Note to Say Hello card
Stamp sentiments onto tags
Cut some foam and adhere to back of each tag for dimension
Use a pre-cut tag or cut a piece of patterned paper to 2.5” x 4” (striped paper)
***** please note that in the following photo my cuts appear different than described above. I did not have a large enough floral paper piece and I wanted to use it so I improvised by adhering this piece to the green patterned paper and after trimming with the tools, I cut this in half before adhering to yellow base paper.
Adhere large base pieces to card base.
Place the Perfect Tears– Perfect Wave Tool- Small Wave Edge along bottom edge of the long area on the backside of paper strip/piece. Press down on edge with one hand, while tearing paper upward toward you. Be sure to hold tool down firmly and pull with a bit of force to get a clean cut.
Cut this strip in half and layer one atop the other.
Add twine across top of this piece.
Adhere smaller cut piece to center of card.
Add tags, fussy cut floral spray, and enamel dots.
Fold a length of twine in half and tie a bow. Trim to desired length.
Add a small piece of twine to center of button and then adhere to center of bow.
Raechelle Bellus is here tonight creating a fun layout for us to show one of the many ways to honor our moms! We love our moms and it is so special when there are times you can capture a memory together and save it for generations to come!
Patterned Paper: October Afternoon and My Mind’s Eye
Sequins: Craftin Desert Diva’s
Stickers: Pink Paislee
Machine stitching, foam, and white cardstock.
Cut two strips of polka dot paper; one 5/8” x 12” (adhere to right edge of base paper) and the other to 1.75” x 12” (adhere this strip to left side of base paper)
Fussy cut circle doilies and flower sprays from patterned papers. Adhere circle doilies randomly on paper. Place one of the floral sprays slightly underneath border on right side of layout. Keep the side along the edge flat and use some foam to pop the rest up for dimension.
Place the Perfect Tears- Perfect Wave Tool– using the Large Wave Edge along bottom edge of the long area on the backside of striped patterned paper. Press down on edge with one hand, while tearing paper upward toward you. Be sure to hold tool down firmly and pull with a bit of force to get a clean cut.
Adhere this strip atop of polka dot paper on right side. My strip is about 1- 1/8” x 12”.
Add machine stitching along both inside edges of paper strips on both sides.
Add other two floral sprays using foam for some dimension.
