Creating a Card From a Photo

Hello everyone, Chitra here and today I am sharing a card using photo. It was little difficult for me to just come up with a card idea using photo, here is what I made…

PH6

By Chitra Nair (that is me and hubby dear)

To create this card:

  • First I took an A2 sized white card base and placed “bubble mask” stencil from studio calico and used my Perfect Paper Crafting Air brush along with R24 marker and spritzed little red color on the bottom part of the card base.

PH2

  • Then I took a photo  I wanted to use for my card and used Perfect Square tool and Perfect Cutting Mat to get the perfect measurement I wanted. I just wanted the left and right sides trimmed; I used the bottom edge as my catch edge and trimmed one side and did the same for the other side using top edge as the catch edge.
  • Once I was happy with the photo size I used corner punch to round all four corners.

PH4

  • For layering I used 3/8”-inch, 1/8”-inch and 3/16”-inch (from bottom to top); I used Perfect Layers Mini on design papers from DCWV.

PH5

  • I adhered the whole photo panel directly to the card base.
  • For the stamped image I used Avery Elle’s “Dream Boat” stamp set; stamped the image onto Crafters Companion ultra smooth white cardstock and colored it using Copics, then trimmed it out and adhered it using some foam squares.
  • The sentiment is also from the same Avery Elle’s set which is stamped using Memento Tuxedo Black ink.

A Piece Of Cake

Hello friends, Chitra here today and I am sharing a fun birthday card that you could say is ‘A Piece of Cake’.
I love making birthday cards and what other better way to surprise on birthdays than to send a handmade card with of course a little gift card in it and let them know how special this day is ☺

To create this card:
I stamped and colored the image onto Tim Holtz watercolor cardstock using distress inks; the watercolor panel measures 4.25” X 2.25”. To add some more interest to the panel I ran it through die-cutting machine using Lawn Fawn’s stitched border die on both the sides. I also stamped the sentiment using Memento black ink.
The colored panel is then layered with a DCVW magenta colored cardstock, it measures ¼” –inch. I used perfect layers mini and a craft knife to create my layer.
To create this beautiful background I took a top folding A2 card base, placed honeycomb stencil on top (secured it with some low tack tape and masked off the area where I did not wanted the ink), then with the help of Perfect airbrush I spritzed some pink and yellow ink using my sharpie markers.
(I wanted bright and bold colors for my background so I maintained fairly low distance between the cardstock and airbrush, but if you want yours to be very light and subtle you can increase the distance. Just try it on a scrap piece of paper first and once you are happy go ahead and do the magic on your cardstock).
The colored panel is then adhered using foam squares to the card base and I also added some glitter to the cherry.

Bunny Easter Card

Hello everyone, Chitra here and I am excited to share my Easter card with you all today. Finally spring is here, all green, colorful and beautiful back again…

PH1

By Chitra

To create this card:

First I took a white panel measuring 3.5” X 3.25”; stamped the bunnies and those tiny hearts, I masked the bunnies in front to stamp the bunnies in the back and then colored everything with copics; Also stamped the banner for my sentiment; sentiment is hand written. Then I sponged the grass using Mowed Lawn distress ink first and then I colored grass using copics on top of it, then I colored the sky using distress ink as well.

PH2

I adhered the colored panel onto a light lemon yellow cardstock and used my Mini Perfect Layer and craft knife to create the layer of 1/16”th – inch and then rounded the two corners.

PH3

Then I adhered a green cardstock to the panel to create another layer of 1/8”th – inch and then gave it a round corners as well.

PH4

For the final layer I used my Perfect Tear and the water pen included with ruler set to create the wave shape; then with the help of Perfect Paper Crafting cutting matt I adhered the last layer.

I adhered the whole panel using some foam squares onto an A2 size white card base. And finally added some glitter to the banner and hearts. Here is a closer look.
