Here is my A2 size card I created and the sketch I used to make my card for our blog skip:

I used our Perfect Layers tool #2 for all of my layers. I made my layers 1/16″.  I even used my Perfect Layers tool for the banner. I just love how precise the layers are and the ease of using our Perfect Layers tools!

I colored up The Greeting Farm Solider Ian with my Copic markers, American Crafts patterned paper and card stock, The Lawn Fawn’s Riley’s ABC’s clear stamps, My Mind’s Eye enamel dots, The Paper Company shimmer beige card stock. I hope you like my card. I had so much fun making it knowing that a someone in our Armed Forces will be able to send this home to some one they miss. What an absolute honor! I am truly grateful for all they do for our country!!

Here is the sketch I used for our blog skip: Sketch #179

  1. Love the cute factor in the card with the tiny hero but I seriously <3 the even layers. This is a skill I would love to master. *Runs off to look at info on Perfect Layers tool #2.*

  6. Ian looks wonderful on your card. Great that there is a tool for perfect layers, I already know I don’t see a straight line so this tool may be very helpful! Thank you for sharing today. These hops are so fun and have so many great ideas.

  7. The card is so perfect for OWH!! I have had the perfect layers for a
VERY long time and had forget I had them after a move, I just unearthed them and think they will now be part of my everyday use with my cards. Thanks for the reminder!

  8. The color palette is great for a masculine card, but that gold shimmer would appeal to the women, too! That paper is a great way to add “bling” without adding glitter or too much dimension! Good thinking!

  12. I love layers but often end up with them a bit too wonky. I’ll be checking out the PL rulers sooner, rather than later. With this many layers, I’d have messed up at least some of them. You’ve saved me!!! 😉

  13. love the little boy! What a sweet card, nothing girly about it! the background paper is wonderful and love all the layers! gotta check out the tools!!!

  14. I love the neutral colors and the way you used the sketch as a springboard and not just as a pattern to follow exactly. That’s something I want to work on in my cards.

  15. The card is adorable!! Nicely colored and the layers are perfect. I wish someone would do a tutorial on how to use the tools! It would be helpful!

  16. I love how the background is subtle so that the Ian image takes center stage. the image is colored wonderfully and the sentiment is perfect. Thank you for supporting OWH and our military. I definitely will be trying your products in the future.

  17. Love all the multiple layers. I’d love to see how you used the tool to make the banners as that’s something I need to learn how to make. And to make them look good!

  18. Your card is great! Love the way your colored Soldier Ian.Thanks so much for partnering with OWH for this wonderful blog skip. I’ve visited all the blogs and I’m much impressed with the examples of cards made with layers using your rulers.

  19. Love the card. Of course the perfect layering. I struggle with that and I’m glad to know I’m not the only one. Had no idea they made a tool for that. Going to check it out now. Thanks for the giveaway and supporting OWH.

  20. Perfect Layers have been on my list for awhile, I have a feeling this skip is gonna move them up to the top of the list! Great coloring job on the little soldier, and of course, your layers are PERFECT!
